Painting in the Southwest United States
In the winters of 2006, 2007 and 2008 I stayed with artist friends in Oracle,
Arizona (an hour north of Tucson). An old "stagecoach trail" leads into
the desert just five minutes walking distance from the front door of my studio apartment.
My favorite trails are in Oracle State Park,
just a five minute drive away. Every morning I hike into the desert, many times
carrying my easel and paints. Here are some of the paintings of Arizona (and
Sonora, Mexico) that I have done during my art trips to Oracle. I plan to return
often to Oracle in the future and will post more of my Southwest paintings.
